  About ->Birth Of Nsucc
North South University Computer Club (NSUCC), is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in North South University by every means starting from human resources to its different activities over the years ever since the club was started, which is way back in 1994.

One of the very unique and important qualities about this club is that this is the only club in North South University that provides a vital platform for all those students who are interested in Information Technology. The club offers a grand chance of exchanging and learning detailed information about IT for students who are interested in building up their career in the particular field. Students here can interact with all the other students who are enthusiastic about the same profession. Club activities among students help them make friends with a huge number of people of the university from different batches through this club.

Over the years, the members of NSU Computer Club have worked their way through to introduce the latest products of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) to the community and local market through different club activities.

There are many outstanding activities of NSU Computer Club. Among them there are organizing ACM programming contests, International Collegiate Programming Contest (Dhaka Site) in 1997, 1998 and 1999. The five software/hardware exhibitions named “Softfair” held in the years 1994, 1997, 2001, 2003 and 2004 were outstanding and extremely successful where different IT companies, hardware companies, corporate firms and universities from all over the country participated.

Just before the beginning of every semester other than the formal orientation program held by the university, there is another little informal departmental orientation program for the new students where they are given a warm welcome with an adequately set up program especially by the members of NSU Computer Club to make them feel at home at once. This tradition of the orientation program for new students has been going on for quite a long time in NSUCC now.

Intra NSU Programming contests, NSU News Letter publication, workshops on Web Page Development, seminars on various fields of computing etc. are among the vigorous activities of the club.

A fun fair named “Techno Fun Fair” or TFF for short has been organized by the club during the years 2002, 2003 and 2005. In the 1st TFF, October 2002, there were regular activities of TFF like movie show and gaming contest and moreover it included the exhibition of “SONY AIBO” for the second time in Bangladesh. The 3rd TFF in 2005 created overwhelming enthusiasm among the NSU students and was a tremendous success.

There have been quite a few national and international study tours arranged by NSUCC. The international study tours were to India; once in August 2000 and the other time in May 2003. The tour in year 2000 was seventeen days long and the places visited were IT villages at Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mysore, Goa and Mumbai. The 2003 tour was twelve days long and the places that NSUCC members visited at that time are IT villages at Bangalore, Kolkata and Mysore.

The national study tours were arranged once to visit the automated system of Chittagong Stock in January 2000 and there was another trip to Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, to Sylhet in February 2001.
